It’s time for a FRESH outpouring!

Isn’t it funny how at the start of a new year, we are so motivated to make resolutions, but we never seem to follow through with them.  How often do we do the same thing with Jesus?  I speak for myself in this regard – so often at the start of a new year, I promise to spend more time with Jesus and as life sets in and the year continues, I find myself being more and more challenged to carry out that promise. When that happens, then everything just seems to downward spiral out of control.  It’s no longer just time with Jesus that I am neglecting, its things at home too.  I get so wrapped up in everything I am not doing, that the feeling of guilt succumbs me into believing that there is no point in caring about anything.  Can you relate?

If so, I want to tell you that you are not alone.  Life is so busy all the time, that we sometimes forget to just take a moment and breath.  We forget to invest in what is important to us.  So, together, let us overcome this “bad habit” and let us make an effortless decision to cast out the guilt, the negativity, the feelings of less than good enough; for these are all lies of the enemy and we are Children of the Most High God – The God who was, who is and evermore will be!

Today, start afresh with Jesus, start fresh with your family and take your life back! We need to make time for Jesus every single day. Speak to Him while driving, while going for a jog, while cleaning your house – and when you do, oh how things will start to change! Something incredible will begin to happen – a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit will fill you, fill your home, your surroundings; you will be more motivated and your spirit will be lighter.  You see, when we neglect to spend time with the Lord, that is when the things around us start to fall apart, or at least feel as though they are. It is time for a fresh outpouring of God in your life, a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit and a fresh outpouring of Jesus.

My prayer for you this year is that you will shake off your fears and find your confidence; cast out your doubts and renew your mind; that you will lay your anxiety at the cross and learn to trust Him again; that you will make time to seek His face, be refreshed and take charge of your life; that you will overflow with hope, joy, love and grace; and in turn, be a light to someone else.
