Spiritual Perspective

When last have you taken a quiet moment by yourself outside; listened to the sounds of the birds singing; admired God’s attention to detail in the look of the clouds; the colours of the sunrise and the elegance of a sunset. Each one unique and perfectly orchestrated just for you and I. Perhaps it’s time to change your view – the angle at which you see things and make time to appreciate the small things.

The last two years in isolation has brought about some of the hardest moments of our lives.  It has been lonely, scary and at times I too lost my childlike perspective. However, we have a choice to make – do we focus on the bad or do we choose to focus on the good, acknowledging the bad, but not giving it any power over our lives. It is so easy to get sucked into the negativity of what is happening around us – I mean, it’s everywhere, the newspapers, the TV, social media; personally, I had to make a daily decision to not let it define me, but instead, be defined by who God says I am. He is the conductor of my day and night as He is yours.  Because I changed my perspective from that of gloom and doom to that of a spiritual, grateful sense; I not only found my own voice, I found and embraced my spiritual voice.

So today I want to challenge you to change your perspective and focus your attention on what will bring value to your life. Find the silver lining!  In every situation, find something positive to focus on. Be the light in a time where darkness is looming. Because our God is everywhere! He is omnipresent and He lives in you and I!

You are a Jesus warrior! You are chosen by Him and He has called you by name! Remember, God is not asking you to figure it out, He is asking you to trust that He already has! We didn’t earn it and we didn’t deserve it, yet God loves us unconditionally! Now that is something to focus on!

Dear Lord Jesus,

We thank you for a new childlike faith, a changed perspective and a positive outlook on life. We acknowledge that you are omnipresent and always there. Fill me oh Lord with your joy, your peace and your love; that I too may be a light to someone else. Thank you for painting a beautiful picture for me every morning and evening in the stroke of the sunrise and sunset skies. I may have faltered God, and at times focused on the negative and not the things of you, forgive me Lord.  Help me to be more present and to see you in every situation I face. Thank you for your unconditional love and grace.

In the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, Amen
